Il 6 e 7 giugno 2015, la Sezione ARI Perugia ha partecipato allo IARU Region 1 Field Day CW Contest 2015, dedicato alla memoria del nostro socio I0FLY.  La Stazione in portatile è stata approntata, come ormai avviene da diversi anni, nel campo adiacente il Container di Agello, all'interno di una tenda. Una direttiva 3 elementi yagi per i 20,15 e 10 mt. svettava a oltre 15 metri di altezza, grazie al braccio meccanico fornito dal Maurizio IZ0VZR, al quale era anche agganciato un dipolo multibanda per i 160, 80 e 40 mt. Le operazioni hanno avuto inizio sin da venerdì 5 giugno nel pomeriggio, con il montaggio della tenda ed un pre montaggio della 3 elementi, mentre nella mattinata di sabato 6 giugno è stato completato tutto l'allestimento della base operativa, in attesa dell'inizio del Contest alle ore 17:00 locali.

E' stato un weekend molto caldo dal punto di vista climatico, ma meno da quello dell'attività radio vera e propria, a causa di una propagazione molto bizzarra e chiusa a corto raggio; difficile lavorare l'Europa, soprattutto nelle bande alte, mentre non di rado si ascoltavano segnali JA e USA. Oltre 17 su 24 ore di contest hanno consentito di superare gli 800 collegamenti, un risultato non eclatante, degno di rilievo comunque e sufficiente ad affermare ancora una volta l'efficienza della Sezione in questo tipo di attività, al di fuori delle "comodità" logistiche alle quali i Radioamatori sono abituati. Il Presidente della Sezione I0KWX ha coordinato tutto l'evento, dalla fase di montaggio a quella della totale dismissione del campo operativo, coadiuvato per l'occasione da IK0AZG, IZ0VZR, IK0HCT oltre che da I0FSP, I0UZF e IK0EFR, i tre operatori che si sono alternati al tasto.
